FAST Forum Conference 2026 Brought Together Romania’s Air and Space Innovation Ecosystem

On 19–20 February 2026, more than 200 students, young professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs and industry leaders gathered at the National Military Club (Cercul Militar Național) in Bucharest for FAST Forum Conference 2026 – Future of Air & Space Technology, Romania’s only conference dedicated to the future of air and space technologies.
Organised by ROSPIN (as an Innovation Intermediary within the FIERCE Project’s Ecosystem Building Programme) together with the Space and Radiocommunications Agency (ASR) of the Ministry of National Defence, the event was held under the motto “Inspiring today, shaping the future of tomorrow.”
Over two days, the conference featured parallel Forum and Inspiration stages, hosting more than 40 speakers from leading national and international organisations. Participants explored the latest developments in aerospace, space innovation and emerging technologies while connecting with experts from across academia, industry and government.
Among the distinguished guests was Dr. Dumitru-Dorin Prunariu, Romania’s first cosmonaut, who shared his perspectives on the future of the country’s research and innovation landscape.
The programme welcomed representatives from the European Space Agency (ESA), the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Blue Origin, GomSpace, GMV Romania, Thales Romania, AROBS, INCAS, ANCOM, and the UK Civil Aviation Authority, alongside Romanian ministries, public institutions and ecosystem partners including Aspen Institute Romania and Underline Ventures.
Conference sessions addressed some of the most pressing topics shaping the sector, including Romania’s space research and development ecosystem, workforce development and education, dual-use technologies for civil, defence and space applications, Earth Observation and data-driven decision-making, the protection of space assets and critical infrastructure, and the role of startups in advancing the national space economy.
One of the event’s key highlights was the launch of the AIM Space Earth Observation Platform Proof of Concept, demonstrating new capabilities for leveraging satellite data. Participants also had the opportunity to discover innovative solutions developed by teams from the ROSPIN Satellite Data Processing Masterclass and hear inspiring startup success stories from Romania’s growing space ecosystem.
FAST Forum Conference 2026 once again demonstrated the importance of collaboration between public institutions, industry, academia and entrepreneurs in building a competitive and resilient aerospace and space ecosystem in Romania.
