Startup Nation Finland-Tampereen Startuptukiyhdistys ry

Startup Nation Finland (Tampereen Startuptukiyhdistys ry) is a Finnish non-profit association (rekisteröity yhdistys) whose core mission is to strengthen the startup and growth-company ecosystem in Finland through collaborative projects, community building, data analytics, and ecosystem-level development work. Its activities are structured around four key pillars: Kasvuhuoneilmiö, is a co-evolutive innovation program that connects real world challenges and diverse, talented people who are eager to solve complex problems. Space Initiatives, which promote the adoption of space-derived data and technologies across sectors; Demo Reboot– Gaming and AI, which leverage Finland’s strengths in digital innovation and intelligent systems; and External Services, which provide advisory, matchmaking, and project facilitation to enable impactful collaborations and implementation. Startup Nation Finland is official external service provider for FIERCE Horizon Framework project where it is helping the SMEs locally in Finland, Nordics and Europe with the 1^st Financial Support call and other supporting future calls.

The startup ecosystem in Tampere is characterized by strong linkages between industry, academia, and public stakeholders, with strengths in technology, advanced manufacturing, smart city solutions, and sustainability innovation. The city actively promotes innovation activities and community engagement through events, co-creation spaces, and shared facilities such as Crazy Town, a startup hub and co-working space, along with other connected ecosystem actors and regional partners in Tampere and all over Finland.

Within this ecosystem, there is growing interest in integrating space-derived data and technologies into regional innovation pathways, particularly in areas supporting sustainable urban development, environmental monitoring, and smart solutions aligned with green transition goals. The combination of Startup Nation Finland’s pillar-driven approach, active innovation communities, and collaborative networks provides a strong foundation for implementing targeted activities that introduce and support space-data adoption among local innovators, SMEs, and broader stakeholder groups.

Startup Nation Finland- Tampereen Startuptukiyhdistys ry has signed the Terms of Reference and is currently in the implementation phase of its first initiatives.
